Fifth grader bullied for "gay tendancies" caught sneaking a butcher knife to school

Police in Winter Haven, Florida, are investigating the circumstances that led an 11-year-old boy to bring a butcher knife to school inside his Scooby-Doo bookbinder.

The knife was noticed by the fifth grader's classmates at Inwood Elementary School because the eight-inch knife was too large for the binder and was reportedly sticking out.

According to his family, the boy was being targeted by bullies for "gay tendencies," and was seeking to defend himself.

Both police and the school district are challenging the family's claim that administrators knew about the bullying problem but did nothing.

Every school administrator and faculty member and parent should answer this: "Not ONE of us would tolerate assault in the real world, but it's perfectly OK for our children to face it day after day? It's perfectly OK to allow children to victimize, threaten and hit other children . . . and to top it off, punish THE UNWILLING VICTIM as well as the abuser?"

Try and reconcile THAT. That's not something ANY ONE of us should be all right with. If they are, I think that makes them way less of a human being.

Gay bashing is not regional. What leads students to suicide or being murdered is a predictable path o f offensive behaviors aimed at questioned youth. It's aided and abetted by school staffs ignoring or chaffing dont be a pussey type drivel which encourages bullies to escalate behaviors.

there are many solutions this situation 1 of which is Parents and Friends of Gays. GAY/Straight Alliance. WRITE an article for school paper. Hate is unable to take light sshone on it. Talk with school counselor, if no solution go to the supervsor. People kmow who is victim, the one thrown into the locker. The world is ready for one more GLBT. Have faith.
