Dallas razes apartment building where JFK assassin Oswald lived...

The city of Dallas on Monday demolished a dilapidated two-story apartment building where Lee Harvey Oswald had lived briefly before he assassinated President John F. Kennedy in November 1963.

Oswald, his wife Marina and their daughter lived in the 10-unit building at 600 Elsbeth Street from November 1962 to March 1963. It was one of several places Oswald had lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

surely there must be evidence of... something, still hidden in that apartment, 50 years later.

Oswald's secrets may be gone forever, now.

If you had driven down the street it was on last week, you wouldn't have even known which one it was. No sign, no plaque, no tourists. Really it was just a run down house in a run down neighborhood. Many houses on the same block should also be razed.

I can understand why no one would want to live it it but it really should have been kept up and maybe turned into a museum or something.

People have been living in it, and the last time I drove past it, it still functioned as a boarding house/rental.... It had a "to let" sign in any case. I am not usually one to be ok with buildings being razed rather than restored, but this one really doesn't bother me that much. (Dallas has razed, or allowed to be razed, many more interesting and useful buildings) If it was significant to the story, there would be more tourists and the city might have taken a different tack. Dealey Plaza is literally a five minute drive across the bridge from the boarding house and Dealey Plaza is always crawling with tourists. They just aren't interested in the boarding house, and there has been plenty of time for intrepid JFK investigators/scholars to rent a room and poke around.

Some Fuck-up who lived at one point there doesn't qualify the building as historic. What makes it important to save? You can't save everything and there are much better sites to save.

He was murdered in the police station handcuffed to two policemen, obviously never stood trial, was never convicted of anything, and the Dallas Chief of Police, Jesse Curry, wrote in his 1969 book, "We were never able to put Oswald in that window."

So even if the single bullet theory were fact (and it's not), but saying it is, that still doesn't prove Lee Harvey Oswald shot anybody. He claimed to be a patsy, so he didn't do it to be a "big man." People saw him on the 2nd floor of the building just 5 minutes before the shots, and the motorcade was 10 minutes late ... there are more questions about the Tippett murder than the JFK murder. The labyrinthine nature of the events of that day make it perfectly clear that it didn't just "happen" -- there was a set-up, the kind the CIA is famous for in third world countries.

One thing that has always intrigued me is that Oswald was working at the Depository BEFORE the motorcade was changed to exit downtown Dallas on Elm Street. Seems like they moved the motorcade to where the patsy was working and Kennedy was driven to his assassination.

as opposed to "all the wild and crazy shit people who don't know anything about the evidence just pulled out of their collective ass" points to three shots fired, from behind, one of which missed, struck Kennedy and Connally, and one of which struck Kennedy in the head. Reconstructed trajectories and the evidence of impact reactions in the Zapruder film bear this out. Claiming "the single bullet theory isn't factual" just shows you don't actually know the evidence: http://www.jfk-online.com/jfk100sbth.html

It is when very bad (or very good) things happen that we take notice. At some level, everything that happens in life is preceded by an improbable sequence of events to reach the outcome; but since most outcomes in life are ordinary, we don't take notice. CT'ers exploit this fact.

When crimes happen, investigators need to check out the improbable sequence of events to verify nothing sinister is behind them. Also, if someone had predicted the improbable sequence of events that lead to Kennedy's assassination, that would be a good time to take notice.

The victims of the ethically challenged CT'ers that make false allegations against the innocent are never given a trial. There's great evidence that Oswald's guilty.

posting an innocuous OP that is tangentially related to a well known conspiracy theory, so that conspiracy theory can be discussed in General Discussion, instead of Creative Speculation, is completely not the intention of this thread.
