after President Obama has given such a comprehensive and impassioned speech???? I don't give a damn if he loses his next Senate race, and neither should he! This is about doing what is right for the safety of American citizens.

(36,926 posts)Our elected politicians need to do the right thing, FOR ONCE! If it doesn't happen after 20 6&7 year olds get blasted to bits, WHEN???

(11,619 posts)And I agree that our politicians should do the right thing.
Personally, I will not support in any way any politician who is approved of by the NRA. But there are quite a few Democrats who have sought out their support and accepted their support over the last decade.
Pro-gun Democrats win endorsements from NRA
Newly elected Montana Senator Jon Tester is an NRA-approved Democrat who wants to redeploy troops from Iraq and repeal the PATRIOT Act. Is Washington ready for him?
NRA Endorses 14 House Democrats Over Republicans
It doesn't take long to discover who are feeding at the NRA pig trough. There are enough that Reid is leary about running a bill because he always has to have an eye on the next election and in the South and many Western states where it appears that a majority likes their guns warm and their 6 year olds with bullets through their heads.
It is time for all Democrats to repudiate the NRA. If they don't, it is time for them to be primaried by Democrats who care about children.

(36,926 posts)NRA is a fringe, quasi terrorist organization. No decent Democrat should allow him/herself to be associated with such a crazy group.
