Newly elected 8th District U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan on Tuesday announced he has added his name to legislation that would un-fund the U.S. militarys involvement in the war in Afghanistan.
Its time to stop building infrastructure in Afghanistan and start rebuilding America, Nolan said in a statement.
Nolan, DFL-Crosby, added his name to H.R. 200, The Responsible End to the War in Afghanistan Act, which limits war funding in Afghanistan to the safe and orderly withdrawal of all Armed Forces members and military contractor personnel from Afghanistan.
The war in Afghanistan is now in its 13th year and has cost us over $600 billion, Nolan said. There is no military solution in Afghanistan and keeping our troops posted through 2014 will only delay the inevitable.
