On my way to DC

for the inauguration tomorrow morning. At least it will be a little warmer than here in Idaho. I have a ticket to the Sexy Liberal Show, plan to go to the Native American PowWow, check out the Day of Service venue, do a little sight seeing. Still hoping to find a meet up with DUer's who are attending.

Oh yeah food and water will be in short supply around the mall and parade route too.

Just keeping it real for those who don't go to DC regularly during large events.

Frankly having been to a number of events in DC, you see way more of the event on TV, also the riff-raff, yes you are riff-raff will be kept well away from the main activities, lots of fences, barriers and bullet proof glass.

Just be prepared for long days, long lines and lots of people.

6. Most who are not from the area think plenty of stuff is around the mall and are unprepared

for reality they may have kids or medical needs or other reasons that require access to things like food, water and bathrooms.

Oh yeah, don't even think of bringing a car in to DC either, take Metro and get a day pass.

Metro Tip - during large events many times Metro turns off the escalators so be prepared to walk up and down them and Metro has very long escalators.

Hopefully, these idiots won't bring duffel bags, backpacks and coolers and the security entries are numerous instead of four per street for thousands upon thousands of people. Made the last inauguration a living nightmare . . . well that, and it was 10 degrees (should be 39 on Sunday . .. in Cleveland, we call that "April&quot .

It was cold, but hey, I live in Idaho, so what do I care. There were adequate pottys. Watching on TeeVee is ok but you miss the energy. The jumbotrons gave a great view and the sound system was good.

There was a panoramic gigaphoto posted on the Internet and we could see ourselves! That was pretty cool.

I love visiting DC at anytime.
