He used the tired ass guns=cars false equivalency, but got in a snit when I used the same tactic with marriage equality and pro-choice rights.

GAH!

My very very very best friend from high school looked me up on facebook. Last I'd had contact with her was when the AIDS epidemic was rearing her lovely head and she said "God is punishing them for their sins". I just about fell out of my chair and hollered "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????" and asked "why is God punishing all the other people in the world who have been afflicted with disease?" She thought and said "I never thought about that" She was parroting her RW husband. But she was very kind when my parents were dying although I didn't follow up with her. Then Facebook. She wrote something snarky about one of Obama's policies -- obviously not understanding it and again parroting hubby -- and I defrended her. She didn't do anything overt or specifically cruel, but we obviously have nothing in common any more and I wonder why we were so tight when we were younger. Probably the drugs.

I've known this guy since grade school, and he was a douche back then too...but I'm the forgiving type, up to a point.

Cars are not designed, produced or sold for the intention of destroying or killing. Guns are. Simple as that. They usually don't have a response.

The response is usually that guns are a tool.
To which I reply, "talk to me after you build a house with a gun."

from Texas. Where else? We used to share a lot before from pets to recipes, UNTIL Sandy Hook. Since them all she had been posting was NRA propaganda. I tried to debate her and rationalize, but it got more and more contentious.

Just deleted her, with no fore warming, or regrets.

It sucks that some people are so hooked into that frightwinger bullshit.
I gave this dude a "aaaand we're done here" warning.
Then deleted him.
