Dear "far-left hippie pinkos": Thank you all for keeping the peace during election season. You did great! You by and large stood with the president and held back (perhaps well deserved) criticism during the crucial period. You did the pragmatic thing, putting your strong convictions on hold, knowing what the alternative would be.
You get far more hate than you deserve. You did a great deal to get the president re-elected, first and foremost by fostering a climate of class consciousness and setting a high bar for what we should expect from our leaders. Keep in mind that some people will always hate you for what you stand for. Thank you! Thank you for being who you are!

(12,081 posts)We cannot just sit and pat ourselves on our back because we have a democratic president or democratic leaders. They also have to be held accountable. Funding education, getting fair wages, protecting the environment, ending war, protecting social programs, prosecuting financial criminals, ending the war on marijuana, ending the military industrial complex, ending the prison industrial complex, ending corporate personhood, gun control. So much work to do and we must demand that our democratic politicians represent us and not the lobbyists. We have to make sure they know they work for us and they can lose their job anytime they no longer represent the people. I have never been quiet and I will never be quiet.
