(21,968 posts)He said that they would allow audience participation. He said he was going to make the audience keep it "respectful". That is, they could applaud but no yelling out or cat-calling.
I'm sure they will allow it to be raucous -- they want ratings after all.

(12,504 posts)I don't doubt it may help Newtie personally on this drive to the WH.
I've seen/read statement after statement where a Rep had become disenchanted with the party that seems to promote hatred and bigotry. They are embarassed and sad that is who they may be aligned with.
I think the debates should allow all forms of audience participation, and continue to clearly define and promote the kind of person that is a Republican. Maybe some other Republicans will also reconsider participation in the party of "values".
