Last week, Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality hosted Oklahoma pastor James Taylor (no, not the musician) to discuss a summit they attended about health care and the LGBT community. They were upset about a pamphlet handed out at the conference which compared the Old Testaments prohibition of homosexuality to its rules against eating certain foods, both of which are categorized as abominations in Leviticus.
Taylor said that thanks to refrigeration it is no longer a sin to eat foods like pork or shellfish, while since there is no equivalent to refrigeration for homosexuality, it remains a sin. He claimed the people who are really trying to pick and choose biblical principles are gay-affirming Christians.

Fun fact that Taylor probably doesn't know about: Cold storage of food has been used since prehistoric times.
we can do it

I saw on the MSNBC scroll that shellfish DO feel the pain of being boiled, so yes it should be a sin.
Also, he must be a gay affirming "christian".

Also I didn't ready where Jesus said that a fertilized egg was "life" and therefore sacred.
I also missed the memo on where Jesus said that two men or women who are biologically oriented toward the same sex were outcasts and should not be allowed to enjoy life with someone they love.
I'm sure that some Nazi-preacher has an answer to these questions.

Can we refrigerate smarmy moralist superiority? Homophobia in particular? Is it possible to stick puritanism in the deep freeze, or preserve evangelical Protestant denominations in a cooler for the afternoon to keep them clear of the dreaded room temperature?
No?
Well, huh.
