So, Lynch seems to be ready to run. Obviously, it is his right. I guess those who wanted a primary will be happy, and I guess Scott Brown will be happy to run now, as whoever is the Democratic nominee will not be able to focus his full efforts on Brown until the end of May, giving him a big advantage.

People who support one or the other candidates, please, show your candidate's strengths. Leave the ad hominem to the GOP. They do not need our help.

The Boston Herald says Lynch said he had not yet decided. So, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Congressman Steven Lynch dismissed multiple reports that he will announce he's running for Congress next week, saying he is currently conducting a poll and will wait until after U.S. Sen. John Kerry is confirmed to make his decision.

"That's false," Lynch told the Herald today, although he refused to rule out the possibility of an announcement next week. "If we can see a path to victory we'll take that chance."

1. This should be a good thing

The greater access to elected positions is to the benefit of the people. It should not be this is the guy and then shut the door. If some unknown wanted to run against any party picked politician, should they be excluded because it might cause consternation for the establishment. That type of thinking could possibly exclude a shining star, a hidden gem. That is the greater tragedy. Run a good positive clean primary, accentuate your goals and accomplishments and the other side will get zero ammo. If you have to denigrate a fellow Democrat to win, do you really want that type of person representing you? Browns attacks on Warren did not work out so well did they.
