Learned something interesting but disturbing on Real Time

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/she-the-people/post/re-isnt-it-time-what-about-all-those-speaker-pelosi-cover-stories-wait--there-werent-any/2012/04/05/gIQAtKunxS_blog.html

Nancy Pelosi hasn't been on Time or Newsweek's covers even one time. That is simply astonishing. She was the first woman Speaker, the first Speaker to pass health care reform, and was swept in in a historic election. No cover for her. Boehner on the other hand, got the cover before he even became Speaker.

Yer kidding,...right?

I mean,...the media has been infiltrated by Conservatives since Watergate.

Republicans vowed never to let a couple of boyscouts bring down one of their guys ever again so they made the media their stenographers.

They fire anyone who goes too far out of line on the really important things - or appears to be strong. And libs swallow it, call each other weak and spineless after watching libs on teevee talked over, their mikes turned off, surrounded by toadies.

And then blame the libs for being weak in a rigged format that never allows them to say what they mean. it's a long-term pyschological game that is very effective in denigrating our ideas.

They only put a lib in the lineup to get us to tune in and hear the rest of the swill - which they also manipulate to appear that it's the majority view but the voters showed in 2012 they did not believe it.

Now they are going into truly bizarre and outlandish territory to whip up the right and scare or demoralize the left. Anyone who says we're weak, spineless, caving - is not our friend but has drunk the media kool-aid and coming back to spit it on those of us who know better.

It's tiresome to listen to the regurgitated lies put out in a different wrapping every day from those who listen to this, believe it's important and tear down all of those who are trying to do anyhing.

How many times have I heard calls for the heads of good Dems, from those who don't think two steps in front of the game, to see where this is going and where it comes from.

Thanks, Spitfire.

There has been 24/7 media saturation explaining in detail everything about their ideas and goals and dreams for the last 40 years.

We KNOW their message.

To claim we don't is like when Christians say they need to "spread the word" as if there are people walking around that have never heard of Jesus before. Maybe that is where that attitude on the part of Conservatives comes from. They treat Conservatism as a religion and they model it after Christianity so that explains why they act like they need to convert people and do battle with Liberals who they treat like the Forces of Darkness.

Time and Newsweek have both put Sarah Palin on their covers.

And Ann Coulter got a cover.

I think the bosses decided to give covers to those RW women, but the magazine's "foot soldiers" sabotaged them by making the covers show the two women as they really are.

But what else is new? All you have to do is scroll through the pages of DU, and you'll see plenty of so-called Democrats piling the shit on as well. That little turd Luke Russert felt quite free to snark at her about her damn age.

I think she's a superb leader--and her peers, who elected her to lead them, think so too.
