Minnesota governer to Scott Walker: Mind your own business

Gov. Dayton had some harsh words for his neighbor, Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker. On Wednesday, Walker posted this to Twitter in reaction to Dayton's budget plan.

"In '11, IL raised taxes on income by 66% & businesses by 46%. Now MN Gov is proposing a $2 bil tax increase. WI is Open for Business."

On Thursday, Dayton was asked about Walker's comments after his speech to the Minnesota Newspaper Association. He said Walker didn't have much to brag about.

"Gov. Walker's economy is faring far worse than Minnesota's over the last couple of years," Dayton said. "I would suggest Gov. Walker focus on his problems, and we'll deal with bettering Minnesota."

Scott Walker is an idiot. A shill, a jerk, a liar, and a puppet of the Koch brothers. He's more than likely raking in whatever money he can steal and/or divert to his cronies who then give him a kickback.

15. and yet Wisconsin voters kept him in office, when given the chance to recall him

They'll have another chance to vote him out in 2014. Think it'll happen?

The only reason he survived the recall is that there are a lot of people who don't believe in recalls and they were not voting for Scott Walker as much as they were voting against the recall election. There are no doubt a large number of people who voted for him in the recall that will vote against him in the general, that is especially true if Feingold runs which I think he might be considering. Feingold would destroy Walker, despite the loss of his Senate seat he still has high approval numbers and a lot of people really want him back in office.

since MN Repubs like the part of Dayton's proposal that is a major cut in corporate tax rates. The increased revenue comes from expanding the tax to currently untaxed services.

8. I have more respect for Dayton than for nearly any other politician

I have a friend who worked on Mark Dayton's campaign. When Mark Dayton ran for Governor he was in a very tight primary battle against Margaret Anderson-Kelliher, just three days before the primary election my friend who worked on his campaign was in a very serious head on car crash and she was nearly killed.

Mark Dayton went to the hospital to visit my friend not just once in the days before the primary but he was there several times a day. He was in one of the most crucial moments of the campaign and he was spending hours in the hospital to be by my friend's side, rushing out to work on the campaign and then going right back to the hospital again.

Mark Dayton never told the press why he was spending so much time away from the campaign trail during those crucial days so not very many people know about it. I know the kind of things that Mark Dayton does behind the scenes with no press at all, I have seen first hand how compassionate he is and he will always be one of my most respected public officials after seeing what he did for my friend.

Anyone who could see Scott Walker as a better person than Mark Dayton seriously needs to have their head examined.

The Republicans tried to make a huge scandal out of how close the election was, they were loudly spewing false accusations of election fraud. While it was always clear that Dayton won, it was close enough that the Republicans were able to pull all kinds of legal shennanigans and delay the announcement of Dayton's victory for several weeks. They were going to even try to delay his inauguration and keep Pawlenty in office just a little bit longer so he could refuse the federal health care money that Dayton promised to accept as any sane Governor would. Thankfully the courts prevented the Republicans from delaying the inauguration and Dayton was in office to get the federal health care dollars for our state.

It was also probably the most transparant election in American history however, we were able to look at every disputed ballot with our own eyes. The Republicans hate the transparancy of our elections here because if we had not had a transparant system then Coleman would have won, but when people were allowed to examine every single ballot the Republicans were not allowed to sneak their candidate in.

13. Scott Walker: ‘Worth Looking At’ GOP Scheme To Rig Electoral Vote
Sat Jan 26, 2013, 05:42 PM
Jan 2013
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) said on Saturday that his state may join an RNC-backed plan currently being contemplated in four other states that voted for President Obama in 2012 to rig blue state electoral votes in favor of future Republican presidential candidates.

"It's an interesting idea," Walker said at the National Review Summit in Washington. "I haven't committed one way or another."
