For The Sixth Time In One Week, Man Shot At Gun Show

For The Sixth Time In One Week, Man Shot At Gun Show

Gun activists designated last Saturday “Gun Appreciation Day” in an attempt to highlight their opposition to gun safety laws. The PR stunt proved to be more of an embarrassment, however, when 5 people were shot at 3 different gun shows on Gun Appreciation Day. On Friday afternoon, an Iowa gun dealer closed out the week by becoming the sixth person shot at a gun show. The man claims he was “showing off a .25 caliber pistol he thought was unloaded when he slid the action of the gun.” The gun was not unloaded, and a bullet went through his left palm.

After this incident, police found a second loaded weapon on the wounded gun dealer’s table.

Makes a person wonder how many of these accidents were happening every week before the media started to pay attention.

buying up every gun in sight, many of them first time gun buyers, it's not so surprising there's been an increase in negligent discharges lately.

It's unfortunate, but a natural consequence of the ban panic.

I had to show a neighbor how to operate his new rifle safely new years weekend, he didn't even know where the safety was.

Driver's ed. was required when I got my class G license. I had to know the car's controls and demonstrate correct vehicle operation to the satisfaction of an examiner (two separate tests), in addition to writing a test on the rules governing its use.

But you can apparently buy a firearm without having to know about the safety or how to use the weapon properly...

Seems like it began when President Clinton took office and hasn't stopped or even slowed down even when a Republican was pResident for eight years......How long does it go on before someone asks the simple question, why haven't they started taking our guns yet?
Fear is so ingrained in the "Home of the Brave" that common sense has long vacated the premise.

I'm very pro-gun. However, I'm not blind enough to not see the blatant disregard for safety that is rampant among so many gun owners. So many tragedies due to simple stupidity..

Education and safety needs to be mandated somehow. I'm all for the 2A, but the "well-regulated" part really needs to be stepped up by the gov.

Are common. I transported a cop to the ER after he blew his pinky with a cute .25 caliber. He was playing with it (first mistake) and he believed it was unloaded (second mistake).

No media ever reported that. Like most shootings around the word none calls the media.

Used to go to them back in the day when I was buying .30-06 ammo and
8-round enbloc clips for my old M-1 Garand, but no more.
