A random logical fallacy example

Last edited Thu Jan 26, 2012, 10:43 PM - Edit history (1)

The repubs were asked what they would do about the unemployed being uninsured. When it came to Newton Leroy Gingrich, he said that people should be allowed the same tax break for buying insurance that companies get. (Okay, good answer.) Then he says that people should be able to buy into association-sponsored plans, thereby being able to buy as a group instead of at the most expensive "individual" rates. (Okay, also a good answer . . . . not.) Once that happens, the insurance companies will be free to raise the prices on THAT insurance to the former individual rates.

Unless insurance companies are KILLED in favor of a national plan based on a sound socialistic model (Medicare for all), the insurance companies will continue to charge enough to earn whatever profits they want.

This is just a random example of how full of shit these guys are.

edit to change my inadvertent, unintended reference to nazism.

I was mystified by that approach as it applies to the working class, poor and unemployed.
