How to find out who Google thinks you are from your web history.

snip

Now the search giant has given a glimpse on just how much information it has collected - and who thinks you are.

snip

The profile page, called Ad Preferences, is hidden away inside a settings menu in Google Accounts, but can be accessed directly here. (Go to article for the link)

snip

And people taking advantage of the new facility that allows the public to view what kind of consumer Google thinks they are have been amused to find themselves listed with the wrong age and even sex.

I'm not sure if that's because I use Cookie Culler or because I never click on ads.

Actually I am a 50 year old New York male whose interest in container ships is well below average.

opting out merely makes the ads you do see random and not based on what they think you want to see.

One has me over 40 years younger and female/half right.

What's the thing on both my computers with Health and Beauty? Unless they are talking about my least searched sites.

They got North America correct.

And only I use these two computers..no one else.

Cookies, cache, history, all of it.

I close and reopen my browser at least once or twice a day.

My IP address is used by a bunch of people.

I could be anyone.

Nevertheless, google seems to tailor their ads fairly quickly to a session, depending on what I'm researching that day, which is usually technical stuff.

This session my interests are:

Business & Industrial - Energy & Utilities - Renewable & Alternative Energy

There are no demographic catagories associated with me so far.

Ok the music thing is right... and I do watch some walkthroughs with my girls on here so... but no, society? Just no.
