Amendment, but couldn't give a shit about any of the others (except for religious expression). Freedom of speech, all the others -- Bush threw them in the trash can, Obama continues trashing them, and the gun/religious nuts don't even notice.

My take on it is that guns and religion are emotional hot buttons for these nuts, and that's really the only reason they are paying attention. When Obama said 'clinging to guns and religion' he was right to point that out.

to me that this country has gotten this violent. The airwaves have been fucking saturated with explicit violence for more than 20 years. The news stories paint a picture of a world in chaos, and feed people's distrust in each other with daily doses of shock and awe.

This social experiment, if that is what this is, has succeeded. Why is it so shocking to find violent behavior in a country that is now completely dominated by the military industrial complex? A country where peace activists are declared enemies of the state. A country whose police now hunt the citizenry like we are all guilty of something.

Why is it such a mystery that there are more and more meltdowns in our country, when we witness white collar corruption that demonstrates to us how rich criminals are getting away with mass murder, ecocide and are basically funneling public money that belongs to us toward international warmongering? A corporate military that has stolen our innocence and personal space by eternal surveillance is another source of stress. A population more medicated than any time in history, and now subjected to more environmental toxins and threatened by extreme environmental conditions.

Our social programs were created to support people who are under the most stress. Health, education and welfare programs were created to help people in the most need. We need these now more than ever.

Where is all this leading to? And why can't the American people stop THIS violence? I say, if the government wants Americans to be less violent---THEN FUCKING ACT LIKE IT YOURSELF. The whole country needs to disarm--police, military, and the citizenry too. Because this trajectory is leading to even more violence. We have got to be able to LOOK IN THE MIRROR at what messages we send out and receive, and develop peaceful solutions to conflict.

WHY ARE WE SURPRiSED? How can we be this much in denial? A country who has been in perpetual war is now experiencing violence amongst it's citizenry? Duh!

We need more stress and anger management, and the disarming has to happen on all levels, or it won't work.
