I Just REAMED My Brother In Law

My brother in law called to basically tell my wife that I am a LAZY person because I lost my job because my ex employer who laid me off 3 weeks could not pay its bills or its employees.... then he could not help himself and invoked President Obama in to the conversation and said.. YOU CAN THANK HIM FOR YOUR LAY OFF.

I grabbed the phone out of my wifes hands and said "how is it Obamas fault my ex company couldnt handle it financial affairs responsibly?...ahhhhhh ahhhhha ahhaaa is all he could say.

Then he launches into a bunch of BLATHER about politics and how bad things are so I asked him the following..

Who is the President of The US
Name one US Senator from Washington State
Who is your Congressman
Name a State House Member
Who is the Mayor of your town
name 2 city councilpersons
name 1 school board member

What are 2 issues that confront your town right now.

He could only answer me with... President Obama

I told him to stop bitchin and get involved that he is a part of the problem not the solution..

There is a member of our volunteer rural Fire Department
who never passes up a chance to blame Obama for the pot holes in front of his house.

He is now a little more hesitant to do this in front of me.

His ilk think liberals are the ones who are "brain-washed". I know. My brother was body-snatched by someone just like that. His attitude is identical to rsmith's BIL's. When you point out the facts to them, they sputter and obfuscate and change the subject. They'll never admit they're wrong, and they will never admit that all they do is parrot talking points from Fox "News" and the like.

were put on this earth to be reamed, especially when they blame you or the president for the fact that a company's management fucked up.

I have to admit I don't know the city people. I only pay attention to those if the meetings erupt in gunfire or they start to foul things up. The schools aren't great, but that's more a reflection of how poor this state is, overall, than poor management.

I sincerely hope you find a new job quickly and it pays twice with the nit wit asshole right wing brother in law earns. Or more.

My SIL was complaining on FB about their company raising their health care costs, "I thought health care was supposed to go down now" she wrote.

Her husband (my brother) is a big Faux news fan and of course they are oblivious to the fact that very little of Obama care has started yet. I told her to write the company president to complain, the government has nothing to do with what the company does.

My dear nephew (brothers son) wrote how it was all those lazy people on unemployment causing health care to go up. Rather than tell him what a twit he was (several other stupid comments in the past like that one) I just blocked him from being able to post on anything I write.

Ignorant? Check
Washington? Check
Disability since age 57(ish)? Check

It's projection. They project their own weaknesses on everyone else.

It is sooo frustrating to listen to a guy on medicare bitch about "socialized medicine".

You should just tell him since he's obviously too lazy to work, he may as well starve in the streets.

On disability. Who the hell do he thinks is making it possible for him to NOT be starving in the streets?

On disability. No one, but no one who is on disability should EVER complain about social programs.

Don't get me wrong. I firmly believe that we are all here together, and that social programs, including disability ones, are necessary for a decent society. I don't begrudge anyone who actually is on disability. I just wish they'd understand exactly how the system is working. It's not magic money. Only some small portion of it would have come from them. They deserve to continue their lives in dignity, and they should understand that if the right-wing had their way, then they would be starving in the streets.

and could not believe that bait shrimp had gone to the price they have. ($7/3 doz). He started in with, "I knew it, the minute Obama
got re elected everything would go up in price".

I told him to shut up, that he was being stupid and President Obama has nothing to do with the price of bait shrimp in Florida.

I'm not going to call him again when I do go out, my stress level isn't what it used to be and I'm afraid I'd toss him out of the boat.

of an experience I had just after Obama was first elected. I was at a small, locally owned hot tub shop in Kalispell, Montana - gorgeous area but loaded with Tea Party types. I picked up a couple of replacement jets and when I paid for them I noted that they'd gone up from $18 to $22. The response: "Well, what do you expect? Obama's president now. Everything will be going up. Better stock up on guns and ammo now, because they'll be coming for that next."

I had no idea the president controlled the price of replacement hot tub jets. That dude is powerful! Since this was right after the inaugural, it must have been his very first act. "Lilly Ledbetter be damned! Let's get on this hot tub jet price thing!"
