Mustafa Akarsu (killed protecting people at the embassy bombing today)

From my fiancee, a Foreign Service Officer:

The name of the guard killed today was Mustafa Akarsu.

The damage was limited because Akarsu kept the bomber within the security checkpoint.

A well-known Turkish journalist was also wounded; I don't have her name yet.

The entire Foreign Service community places their families in our thoughts and prayers.

I wish we had a saluting smiley with the Turkish flag, but since he died protecting an American embassy (and therefore US soil) I think this smiley is appropriate:

EDIT the police officer I mentioned may be bad info; keeping it out until I can confirm. As always, early reports are sketchy.
