COEUR d’ALENE — An anonymous caller led police to the discovery of several stolen firearms in a Dumpster.
Police received a telephone tip from a female that the guns stolen in the TKS Painting burglary on Jan. 29 were in a Dumpster near West Kathleen and Ramsey Road, according to a press release.

Then, Regan added, to some shocked and uncomfortable laughter and rumblings in the audience, "My wife and I were having this conversation and I said, 'They can't figure out what an assault weapon is - it's just black and it looks scary.' And she looks at me and says, 'Well, so is Obama.'"

Brent Regan speaks at Reagan Republican meeting
Updated: February 01, 2013 - 12:14 am

COEUR d'ALENE - Less than a week after making a controversial comment about President Barack Obama - joking the president is black and scary like an assault weapon - Coeur d'Alene School District board member Brent Regan was the featured speaker Thursday at a local Republican group's meeting.

School board member explains 'racist' remark (my 'embellishments' in parenthesis)

Case in point, at a recent Town Hall meeting I was relaying a humorous anecdote illustrating the difficulties in defining an “Assault Weapon” (because i'm a bigot) and how the general description could be applied to the President, which is clearly absurd (and meant to communicate my racist views to other racists), which was my point. That comment was quoted in the Press (to attack my racism) and that quote was inferred by some (probable communists)to be ‘racist’.(but i don't like them because they aren't bigots like me) Those that know me and my family (all white people) would not reach that same conclusion as I am not a racist and no one in my family holds racist views.(because we don't know any non-white people and haven't been arrested for attacking any. yet.) I believe that people should be judged by their actions (which include being born into certain racial classes) and then their words (as long as they aren't rap or slang) but absolutely never by their race. (especially out loud when non-bigots might be snooping around) This is the opposite of racism. (i am also a monkey) I also believe a person is responsible for what they say, (when they get caught) but not what others chose to infer from those words.(i am just babbling about not being a racist because i'm not even quite sure what it means)

(i give up)

It is becoming clear that President Obama’s policies are hurting far more than they help. My wife and I fear the future our children are facing with rising poverty and debt during the worst recovery EVER. 62.8% of Press readers agree that Obama’s second term will be worse than the first. Are 62.8% of Press readers also racists? No. (ok, 1 more. but 62.8% of that 62.8% are total bigots just like me)

Obama, Pelosi and Reid are all scary, not because of the color of their skin but the content of their character. I like the fact that Obama’s race proves that, as a country, we have transcended racism. Are there still racists among us? Sadly yes, they are often the ones who infer racism where none is implied or the ones who circumnavigate the obvious to arrive at the trivial for political gain.

We cannot finally shed ourselves of racism if it continues to be used as a shield for failing policy or to short circuit honest debate. For my part, I pledge that I will continue to assume that you are not a racist. It is my hope that you will return the favor. Then together we can work to solve the difficult problems.

Lived there for 14 years, a few of 'em in that end of the state... it was spooky in a "gotta watch over your shoulder" kind of way.

Wah! Buncha haters!

(Just in case.)

I suspect this woman went from middle school to middle age without maturing a single bit. A soulless NRA shill who'll say anything to get a buck that makes her crazy and desperate.

Her little routine quickly made the round of RW blogs and started them whining about being oppressed. And they even brought up the gun colors - just as they guy in the OP compared the color of a gun to Obama - discrimination!

(Again.)

Needless to say, they never went out with their guns to defend anyone else's rights, voting rights, women's or anything. Only right is those guns, and the only want the Second Amendment. Most don't like any of the following Amendments.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not for a total gun ban - it's almost impossible. But this selfish, immature view of the NRA, who has their hands in too many things here and abroad, has got to go.

Has had a certain sense f the resistance for decades. Go to the SOuthern Poverty Law center and check on the history of the Aryan brotherhood. It is also the upper edge of Apalachia and the Bible Belt.

There are a few books that might help you understand this better.
