No shadow for Punxsutawney Phil

At 7:25 a.m.Saturday, amidst overcast skies, and frigid temperatures hovering around 8 degrees, Groundhog Phil failed to see his shadow in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pa.

I thought that if he did NOT see his shadow, he did not run back into his burrow and that meant an early spring.

If he saw his shadow, he got scared and ran back into his burrow to hibernate more. This meant it would be a late spring.

Which is it?

I'm not sure I buy into the whole thing though. All I know is I'm freezing my ass off as it's been way colder then usual. I have to look forward to a hotter than normal summer now. Global warming sucks!

It was 17 here this morning, and I'm tired of wearing my overcoat 24 hours a day, inside and out.

Okay, except for the bathroom, but that brings up the subject of unheated toilet seats.
