Homeland Security employee, his son arrested after armed brawl

Days after Belle Isle police officers say three tow truck drivers took a beating at the hands of an armed Department of Homeland Security employee and his son, their attorney says the three are hoping "justice will be done."

Pablo Morales, 48, and his son, 22-year-old Diego Morales were arrested just after midnight on Jan. 26. According to Pablo Morales' arrest report, he and his son went to the ASAP Towing yard on the 3100 block of McCoy Road in Belle Isle after Diego Morales' car was towed to the lot.

Pablo Morales got into a argument with an employee of the towing company and tried to walk into a restricted portion of the lot to get to the car. When the employee tried to stop him, the argument escalated and a brawl broke out.

Two other employees and a third man who was a friend of Pablo and Diego Morales all started to fight but police say Pablo Morales soon pulled out a 9mm handgun and pointed it at two of the employees forcing them to back away as his son and the third man, described only as J.P. in the report, beat the third employee as he cowered on the ground.
