As I read this hack's column questioning the veracity of the president's comments regarding firing a weapon, I thought this is the low state to which journalism has sunk. This serious article in what was at one time one of the premier newspapers in the US reads like an unfunny parody of a piece of investigative reporting.
Even though the column lacked the humor evidenced by our best satirical review, I thought it deserved to be judged using a scale comparable to the "Fact Checker's" inane Pinocchio rating system. So I have devised the following system to rate the depths of self-parody to which serious reporters have sunk.
One Onion- Lame but consistent with brain dead corporate media think
Two Onions- Ridiculous but still not likely to be aired on Fox
Three onions- Truly Kilmeade/Doocy worthy
Four Onions-A pluperfect traveshamockery.
Congratulations Glenn for your work on the Skeetgate scandal you have earned the coveted Four Onion Award.Keep at it, you are approaching the Onion Lifetime Achievement Award.
