They lost every Senate race they backed with the exception of AZ, every candidate who was rated F by them won.
Seemed he was bragging that they have 4 millions members and are all powerful. While Moveon has 7 million members & AARP 39 mill.

(34,170 posts)When Democratic legislators stopped putting up gun control laws the NRA seemed less relevant to voters.
After all is said and done, it will be interesting to see what happens after this massive law of gun legislation settles out.

(1,249 posts)Maybe there aren't as many NRA members as the NRA would have us believe, but their members are armed and (in large part due to the organization's prodding) angry. That makes for a lot of clout, especially with politicians who have accepted NRA contributions.

(49,445 posts)THIS ELECTION they got trounced... probably because Obama and the Dems let sleeping dogs lie the previous 4 years.
Remember, the 80+ million people that own guns have to be politically active to in order to continue to do so. They've invested time and money in their guns, and they will invest time and money in politics as well.
The other 2/3rds of the country that doesn't own guns? Yeah, they have to do exactly zero to keep not owning guns.
