So you can just imagine the uproar in the country when his 14-year-old daughter Rosinés Chávez published a picture of herself covering half her face with a wad of dollar bills.
Of course, all of this is a big deal because her father is known to rail against imperialism and capitalism. So a daughter with access to dollars and American luxuries smacks of hypocrisy.
"Rosines's picture, for many Venezuelans, highlights the parallel system at work: easy access for those close to Chavez, restrictions for those with no connections."
Some animals are more equal than others.

(135,425 posts)There's a three grand limit and the exchange rate sucks. It's the whole "do as I say, not as I do" thing. One rule for the rich, another for everyone else.
On the amusing side, though, she's started a trend: http://www.hispanicallyspeakingnews.com/notitas-de-noticias/details/flashin-cash-chavez-daughter-posts-photos-holding-u.s.-money-venezuela/13577/
By posting the photo, Rosines outraged Venezuelans who say the U.S. dollar policy is just an attempt by the government to keep a tight hold on residents.
In Venezuela, people have to go through the government to purchase dollars and are often unable to buy as much as they need or want.
The First Daughters photo posed an interesting question however: Why is it so easy for Chavezs family and friends to obtain American dollars, but so difficult for everyone else?
Since posting the photo, Rosinesing has begun with many taking to Twitter and Instagram to post photos of themselves holding up items or other money to cover half of their face as the teen did in her photo.

(962 posts)Other than it being amusing to see that leaders kids can be troublesome everywhere in the world, I don't see how any true outrage can come from this. It's not like there are a shortage of real issues to take issue with (right or wrong)...
