http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/trending/189682131.htmlA 54-year-old Tacoma man has been arrested for allegedly driving his car into a Pacific Gas & Electric worker in Fresno, trapping the man between two vehicles. According to a witness, Jett Simmons claimed to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ before making racially charged threats and ramming his car into the PG&E worker.
The witnessa hitchhiker "from Dogtown" by way of West Virginia named Kai (that itjust Kai)says that after Simmons rammed the man, he got out of the car and tried to smother a bystander with a bear hug. That's when Kai sprung into action and hit the 6'4", 290-pound Simmons on the head with a hatchet. Once, twice, thrice.
In the aftermath of the ordeal, the victim asked not to be identified and said that he only hopes his assailant gets the help he needs. Kai, meanwhile, gave the greatest interview in the history of television news. Peep the full, NSFW version below.

What are the odds that the crazy guy who thinks he is Jesus and is about to need a hatchet to the head picks him up?
And he ends up killing the crazy guy?
Give this man an award.

http://www.gofundme.com/1zluh8Kai, the homefree hitchhiking hero...
About This Page
We're just a group of people interested in recognizing the true heroes of this world. In this case, that hero is Caleb Kai Lawrence.
His story was brought to our attention by a news clip on the verge of going viral. In this clip a man simply going by the name of "Kai" is being interviewed by Jessob Reisbeck of KMPH Fox 26 in Fresno, CA. Although the man is described as a homefree hitchhiker and his personality is somewhat unconventional, we quickly learned that he played a large part in saving not only a PG&E worker but also 2 women at the scene. The video can be viewed here:
Due to the interest this video has generated, we took things a step further and were able to locate the identity of Kai via his Facebook page.
We are hoping other people will recognize Kai's selfless act in which he expected nothing in return.
If we're lucky maybe we can get him that surfboard and wetsuit he's been dreaming about.
You can also view the fansite that has been created in honor of Kai at:
https://www.facebook.com/KaiOfDogtown
On edit: I decided to start a new thread asking for help:
Give Kia, the Homefree Hitchhiker who stopped the Racist Jesus Nut's attack, a little help.

(37,457 posts)The affable "Kai" rocketed into Internet superstardom with his "Smash, smash, smash" line, which he used to described the way he used the blunt end of a hatchet to stop the driver who attacked the PG&E worker because of the color of his skin.
The KMPH video has grabbed more than one million views on Youtube and has been featured on media outlets like the Huffington Post, CNN and Fox News.
In an exclusive update with KMPH reporter, Jessob Reisbeck, "Kai" says he hitchhiked to Northern California and has only recently learned of his Internet fame.
He tells Reisbeck that he is "overwhelmed by the support."
