Obama is not petty.

Bush 41 is a former President. As such, he gets a certain amount of respect.

Even a former governor gets some respect. Even if we disagree with him vehemently.

If we want leaders who are petty, we should elect more Republicans to office.

Or the winners of national science fairs ... or insert your favorite group.

Sitting Presidents have ALWAYS met with FORMER Presidents.

The only people who know what kind of stress the current President actually faces are FORMER Presidents.

When 41 DIES ... which I suspect won't be too long. Obama will be there. After all, the man was President.

Obama will as always remain above the petty BS of Washington. Its sad some want him to start to be as petty as so many of the GOP have become.

But usually only for special occasions, not just for an evening chat.

And whether Obama was born with a silver spoon in his mouth means exactly nothing. Lots of the 1% weren't born with silver spoons in their mouth, but they are members of, and act like, the 1% nonetheless. Why are you so against the truth about Obama's wealth status being disseminated?

Furthermore, a lot of our Senate and House members, both Republican and Democratic, are members of the 1%. That is part of what is wrong with this country, rule of, by and for the 1%.

You've got to be kidding!

Obama has done full disclosure. Obama brings up his wealth whenever he talks about the 1 percent needing to pay their fair share.

What I object to is your campaign to make it seem that Obama has been pampered his entire life like a Bush or a Romney.

You want to pretend that Obama has no clue as to what it is like to struggle to get by, or know the financial stress that people are under.

Your mission is to "prove" that Obama is the " same" as Romney or whatever the Republican flavor of the day is.

You want to insinuate that Obama is driven by the same selfishness that made Mitt Rmney destroy jobs and peoples lives for profit.

You want to forget that while Romney destroyed lives after college, Obama worked hard to make the lives of laid of workers better when he graduated college.

The other day you let us know that it might be good to have a Republican victory in 2012 so that we can "start over" in spite of the abject misery that would result for the poorest and weakest among us.

So yes, I object to your campaign to misrepresent Obama.

That I've made that contains any of the claims you are making.

All I keep doing is reminding people that Obama is a member of the 1% club, that's it. Yet you seem to take offense that I dare mention such a fact. Well, your opinion aside, the fact is, the President is a member of the 1%. Just like the Bush's, Clinton's, and other members of government.

Deal with it, it is reality.

and half truths, inaccuracies, insinuations, lack of context, mind-reading and so on and so on in order to produce the worst possible picture of Obama and Democrats.

I'm not the only one who sees it:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002226531#post41

I have no doubt you beleive everything you say, and I have no doubt you feel justified in trying to depress democratic voter turnout with your threads and posts. Especially if you truly the best way for the US to "start over" is to give the country to the Republicans and let them destroy it.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=226567

You are certainly free to post anything you want (at least until DU declares election season official).

But you are going to get pushback from those of us who find your positions and arguments thin, rigidly ideological and deceptive (whether intential or not)

Especially when you push the no difference between Republicans and Dems meme.

P.S. it is not personal, although I think that will be your next gambit. I used to be an ideologue too, I was super convinced there was no difference between Dems and Republicans. Then Reagan got elected and I woke the fuck up.

They don't dare trash the Bush family because without them there are not enough symbols left to put a face on the Republicans

There's all kinds of messages there:

The Bush family 'respects' the President and the office.
This is for all appearances NOT a secret meeting (which the Obama haters would have spun because it wasn't announced).
The Bush family is NOT falling in step behind the teabag party nor do they fear them. This is a poke in the eye to the teabag party.
Cordiality between the parties is more than a possibility.
Important world leaders can sit down together even when they oppose each other. And don't try to tell me the Bush family aren't important world leaders.
Two people in that room know what the job takes in every detail.

It also says there will never be any prosecutions of crimes as long as Obama is President. Probably never.

So I get both positive and negative messages, but it's definitely a politically motivated photograph. And I think the message is aimed at the 1% too.
