The IOC is dropping wrestling from the Olympics.

“@olyphil: IOC exec board in May picks candidate sport from baseball/softball (joint bid), karate, wushu, rollersports, wakeboarding, squash, climbing”

The said reason is that the scoring is incomprehensible to spectators. Most of the candidates to replace it aren't exactly easy to score. Wushu will be an open book in judging.

What shenanigans are behind this? Somebody is up to something.

This is a historic sport. My son participated in wrestling this year, and I really gained a great appreciation for its technical skill.
