Do you know what bothers me most about the recent North Korean Nuclear tests?

Warning, profanity follows:

What bothers me most about the North Korean Government conducting, or claiming to have conducted, three underground nuclear tests is that with their history of fucking up every single thing they touch its mighty likely that horrible environmental harm has been done by these fucking idiots. One does not have to be a GreenPeace member to shudder at the possibilities.

And by the way, why on earth do we bother to trump up nuclear-armed Boogie-men in Iran when we have very real live nuclear-armed lunatics in North Korea?

And unfortunately, the U.S. is in no position to criticize others for fucking up the environment. sadbear Feb 2013 #1
We could deal with Iran (and Iraq) before they got the bomb (in theory). el_bryanto Feb 2013 #2
I don't think they could use it if they wanted to. They have no tactical delivery system 1-Old-Man Feb 2013 #5

In Korea, they already have the bomb, and probably the will to use it. So we treat them somewhat more softly.

As many have pointed out, this doesn't give them much of an incentive not to develop the bomb. Trying to build the bomb might be dangerous, but actually building it gives them a lot more leeway.

It seems to me that the only way to safely remove the power structure from North Korea is to allow the people of North Korea to take a look at the rest of the world. I do not think it would take them long to throw down the dynastic government that rules them now. Use whatever means necessary to distribute 1 million IPADs in the country as well as some sort of underground WiFi and see what happens.

They are getting very close to intermediate, nuclear tipped, delivery devices.

And the best part, the war never ended.
