The Dead rising from the grave in Montana

Bogus emergency alert message transmitted

Someone apparently hacked into the Emergency Alert System and announced on KRTV and the CW that there was an emergency in several Montana counties.

This message did not originate from KRTV, and there is no emergency.

Our engineers are investigating to determine what happened and if it affected other media outlets.

What it brings to mind, though, is that hackers seem to only go for the easy targets, i.e., us peons. Why aren't they going after the uber-rich? Seems like they'd do more "damage" and potentially make far more money than they can currently imagine...

6. I have to tell you about a T-Shirt I saw for sale in Grand Forks years ago

I was part of the team of people who transferred the research facility at Grand Forks from the Federal Government's to the State's control so I was out there often. One night I was in a bar and they had T-Shirts for sale and I have to say that one of them really struck me as funny.

The T-Shirt was black and on its back it had a caption above a Bull's-eye style target with the Bull's-eye labled as "Grand Forks" and the rest of the rings numbered in decreasing values. Directly above the target the caption read:

"I've been to"
"The exact center"
"of nowhere"
