Listening to OnPoint today while on the elliptical and heard a great point... We no longer live in the world of big ideas such as "The New Idea" or even if bad ones such as... Well you get the idea. We have moved into a world if 24 hours (if even) stories, reaction to tweets, etc.
Well here is my question... Seeing that we are all democrats according to the DU terms of service... Why are you here, why are you a democrat, what's your big idea.
Please feel free to share I feel like a thread like this can be a great way to keep moving forward.

(29,414 posts)that I'd like to see as a consequence of free country-wide WiFi. That is, with connectivity open to all, and at high data rates, people could finally tele-commute in ways not possible now. You could see the revitalization of small towns as the net-savvy move out of the cities and begin to blue the countryside

(28,749 posts)But it's hard when some people are so wrong. If I want not on my iPhone I'd BR posting the video if Naomi rapace from that alien movie... "We were wrong, we were all so wrong" haha.
I do agree with the basic premise however, thanks for the reply!

(3,168 posts)If the world changed to light or white roofing, that might be enough to begin to slowly reverse the warming trend, could be a catalyst for additional awareness and change. Save the planet.

(29,414 posts)but have read the white roof idea on treehugger.com Something like a 40% improvement in energy savings.
I read it years ago, and my landlord at our apartments appears to have learned of it recently in his industry (building apartments.) They just put a white roof on our flat-roofed apartments. I'll let you know in August if it's working

(9,074 posts)Create a higher standard of learning across the board. Then promise to continue to support and improve areas of education that need attention
. based on an already "fixed" and higher form of education from then on.
That goes for any cyclical political promises that the people are supportive of. Or those that benefit the most and have lasting benefits.
They need to be achieved then supported and not allowed to fail in any largely significant way. The lowest bar needs to be raised higher.
