but the urban dictionary may have changed in the last 5-minutes,
while I wasn't looking.

I thought it meant inordinate delays, of something long-overdue,
that needs to happen, should happen, but no one's willing to touch
that hot potato, so they "kick it down the road". Near as I can tell,
the potato gets placed in the can, before kicking it, so no one gets
burned.

Otherwise why would you bother kicking it down the road? It's procrastinating, or being unwilling/unable to act now, but unwilling/unable to let it go.
