Not enough, dog fighters and animal abusers of all sorts should get long sentences. We'd rather put someone in prison for harming themselves with drugs than put them away for torturing defenseless animals that never had a choice. That's not civilized.

One to three years, and can't own a dog for the duration of probation? He'll be free in 18 months.

How many dogs did he kill? How many did he maim? And how many will be scarred or stunted or scared for their whole lives? THAT is what we should consider in these cases.

We must begin to view them as sentient beings who deserve respect and protection similar, it will never be equal unfortunately, to humans. And yeah, many will not agree with that sentiment, which is why animals continue to be traumatized. Mete out a few 20 year sentences with no parole and things will change.

I also think lots of animal "police" are understaffed and unable to deal with the volume of abuse in some larger cities.

They did a Halloween episode where the dolphins came out of the ocean and ruled over as, as it always should have been!

However, I definitely agree that dolphins should rule the world!

Animal and child abusers are the lowest form of life on this planet, and no punishment is too awful for them. Seriously.

Look at that sweet face. They're so trusting and then assholes like that guy totally betrays them. It's infuriating. I was watching a series yesterday on the Documentary Channel entitled "Extraordinary Dogs" and it was fascinating. I am a crazy cat lady, but still can appreciate the human/canine bond.

I hope that all the dogs find good, loving forever homes and that douche bag lives a life of misery.

"Last week a judge sentenced Sanchez to one to three years for animal fighting, one year for animal cruelty and one year for criminal possession of a weapon. (Sanchez will serve these sentences concurrently.)"

Maybe if they were to run consectively, not concurrently.
