Now there is talk the people who led cops to the asshole won't get any reward money.
A legal loophole could prevent good Samaritans, instrumental in ending the manhunt for a fugitive ex-cop accused of killing four people, from claiming more than $1 million in reward money because Christopher Dorner died and was not captured.

The people who led them to the cabin they burned down are the ones who should get the reward.

They made Bernie Madoff's wife give up her money.
Civil suits are in order from anyone who Dorner's actions killed.

(11,464 posts)This guy was a terrorist. Not someone to be admired.
The people to feel sorry for are the families of the officers and others that were killed,
all because of Dorner, the terrorist.
Every single penny from any book, movie, whatever should go to repay this.
There should be no profit from these hideous crimes he committed.
(In NYC they have the Son of Sam laws for just this purpose).

(11,464 posts)If not his family, make the NRA pay for it.
How can anyone idolize Dorner?
the funny thing is, Dorner IS A COP. Yet the people idolizing him don't like cops.
Yet Dorner is a cop.
NO he is not someone to idolize.
The 99.99999999999999% are going to pay for the expense because one terrorist did this,
all because he had access to guns and bullets.
Again-Dorner is a terrorist.
It would be like idolizing the coward who killed the kids when he did Oklahoma City.
How many more would he have killed if police looked the other way?
(note-not saying anyone specific is idolizing him, just the people that are).

(11,464 posts)He is a terrorist.
NOT to be idolized.
I read he had kids, guess the alt-media got that wrong too, like 99% of the crap they write
trying to invoke sympathy for this guy.
When in the future there are talks about bad cops, Dorner is now the cover person for them.
I can't recall any cop at any time doing what he did to so many people.
Vigilantes should not be tolerated, like the cops on Danzinger Bridge found out.

(21,675 posts)i've only heard that he had none. in fact, in his manifesto he stated that he never had a chance to have a family (or words to that affect).

(11,464 posts)No one should get rich off of this.
Make any movie or book pay the familes who were hurt, and the city of Los angeles back.
Why should someone profit off of this?
They normally freeze all assets of terrorists. So why should this be different?
and he was labeled a terrorist.
Shame is anyone even knows his name. Just gave him the fame he wanted.
Like the Son of Sam.I see no difference between them or Tim McV.the Coward.
(All profits from anything related to the Son of Sams crimes went to the family).

(11,464 posts)so your blame is going to the wrong person.
I just re-read the whole thread and it was only after post 6 that anyone brought kids
into the picture.
My word was his estate or the NRA.
It would be a good thing if the NRA is liable directly for every single gun death and bullet death.
Without a gun, this wouldn't have happened.
but post 6 brought kids into this argument, not me.

(68,868 posts)he kidnapped.
Not to mention his goal of murdering spouses and children of LAPD.
And, of course, the cops he did murder had wives and children and mothers and fathers who have suffered horribly at his hands.
What would you call him, a Freedom Righter?
The couple that called the cops, are they victims or collaborators in your book?

(11,464 posts)It's like people idolizing James Bond or #6 and forgetting they were super spy assasssins in the first place.
Dorner=COP.
If one don't like cops, then how can one like Dorner who WAS IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE a cop?
BTW, I myself don't like bad cops.
I don't stereotype and say all cops are bad.
There are many good ones.
Others just work a horrible job with no respect and get a paycheck.
Dorner was a BAD COP.
A good cop doesn't kill people.
But a terrribly bad one does(like the cops on Danzinger Bridge.)

(38,893 posts)discuss LAPD corruption with the entire world watching, or that the reward was nothing more than a way to flush him out so they could kill him (never having intended to pay in the first place having stated the conditions of the reward)?
You friend do not know LAPD whatsoever, or Mayor Villain. Please check back in the Dorner threads to find those of us who said from the first minute that they wanted him dead. Four people shot up (64 bullets at two women) who did not resemble him whatsoever...zero attempt to make a positive ID...shoot first and find out later? Those of us who know LAPD recognized this as a clear trend, as standard operating procedure. They are a gang who protect and serve themselves, not others. Media were told to stop broadcasting and to even stop tweeting, then sheriffs put seven fire-spewing gas grenades into a small wooden cabin, shouting over and over to burn it, calmly stating on the scanner "we have a fire" and not allowing fire crews anywhere near it until only ashes remained. Then actually claiming they did not intend to start a fire, while I significantly doubt anyone on the scanner expressed worry about engulfing flames.
Sorry, but this is just part of their regular assholery and smug self-protection at the expense of the public. I wanted to believe in the social contract involving police, but repeated experience with LAPD and LA city hall completely burned out of my life, that particular bit of self-deceit.

Everyone on the planet knew that Dorner would wind up dead. He pretty much declared his intent to fight to the death in his manifesto. hard to blame the LAPD for the death of a murderer on a suicide run.
