Michigan Governor Rick Snyder is beginning to pay the true price for his attacks on Michigan families and workers. In an EPIC-MRA poll released this week, the percentage of Michiganders giving him a positive job approval rating has dropped from 51% to a mere 36% and, more importantly, the number giving him a negative job approval rating has jumped 16 points from 32% to 48%.
The poll by EPIC-MRA of Lansing, released exclusively to the Free Press and WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), found 61% of Michigan voters surveyed between Feb. 5 and Feb. 10 gave Snyder a negative job rating, while 36% gave him a positive rating.
Those numbers contrast sharply with the same firms most recent previous poll, conducted at the end of November, when 51% gave Snyder a positive job rating and 48% gave him a negative rating.
Snyders favorability numbers also dropped, to 42% favorable and 46% unfavorable in the recent poll from 55% favorable and 32% unfavorable at the end of November.

(2,457 posts)while he's in office he's inflicted a great deal of damage, and he still has time to inflict more damage before he's out of there. I also don't know if Michigan voters have right of recall.

(2,049 posts)All we can hope for now is to limit him to one term. It would take a huge grassroots effort though in a non-presidential election year.

(4,186 posts)With no major union support or help from the Michigan Democratic Party...I thought the recall people did one hell of a job. If they'd had the institutional union and party support..there would have been a recall. The fear of angering Snyder and bringing on "Right To Work for less" --now seems an error in judgement on the part of those groups that stayed on the sidelines...

(634 posts)My wife works as a custodian at the local elementary school. Her contract s up in june or july. If they privatize her job I will have to try to sell my home before I lose it. It is my own fault for living so close to the edge, but it pisses me off the way these people play with the lives of others.
good goddamned riddance!
