Napa woman with 5 DUIs arrested on suspicion of drunk driving

A Napa woman was jailed this weekend after the California Highway Patrol allegedly caught her driving under the influence of alcohol for the sixth time.

Ixchel Susan Rollins, 45, was driving a BMW 540 on U.S. Highway 101 in Petaluma on Friday when she was pulled over at about 2:15 p.m., according to the CHP.

Rollins, who has five prior DUI convictions over the last 10 years, allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for felony DUI, the CHP said.

Good that she got caught before causing any damage. What should happen to her, life imprisonment if she can't keep herself out of cars?

The Dead had a ranch they lived at out at Olompali in the early 70s, between Novato & Petaluma. Lot of hippie history in those parts.

Petaluma got some notoriety in the Early 90s due to the Polly Klaas case. Still, it's a beautiful spot. Everything north of the GGB is.

before she goes to prison? Six known DUIs, possibly countless incidents that we don't know about, including hit and runs. And it's not about pre-emptive punishment--the DUI itself is a serious crime. Will someone really have to die first before she's stopped?

When someone gets their 3rd or 4th DUI, they are hopeless alcoholics.

Maybe (i doubt it's this high though,) 5% or those this bad get the help they need.

The rest drink themselves to death, even making their own booze while in jail.

I guess the rich DUI offenders don't get their picture plastered online. She should go to jail for at least 5 years. It obvious she doesn't care about others people lives. So why not put her in a place where we won't have to worry about her life. I think it would hurt rich people more to go to jail. To go from having everything to nothing over night. They are so used to buying their way. It would be great if no amount of money could save her from prison. It's where she belongs. She has money for alcohol treatment, there is no excuse.

I had mentioned this in another thread. He had DUIs in two states and ended up driving drunk one night and killing his girlfriend.

I hope this woman learns her lesson before it's too late and she does some real damage.
