Sometimes I feel like I'm the only sane person or I'm living in bizarro world.

On Facebook I have 970wfla as a "like" One of their stories is about a Muslim cleric telling his followers to stay on welfare and people who work for a living are the real losers. It had a video that went along with it. It was only a matter of time before the "thanks Obama" comments, and "this country is going to shit" appeared.

The problem being, is that this video was from two years ago and it happened in the UK. I tried pointing this out to people and it was like I was talking to a wall. Still more comments about Obama, then they start attacking me. Lol, this is how Fox, Beck, Rush, etc. get their listeners worked up into a lather. They produce a sound bite, with no background, and people go with the sound bite. They don't look into te story, hell, most don't even read the story.

So IMHO the best way to combat these guys is the same way to combat militant Islamists. Education, the sad thing is I have more chance educating a family sitting 8000 miles away in the Kunduz province of Afghanistan.

3. They only respond to one thing.

If you want to reach a Conservative you have to use fear. Now this is a sickening thing for Democrats plus we don't respond to it to the same extent they do, that makes it hard to understand. Their brains filter everything through the amygdala ( fight or flight part of the brain) While Left leaning thinkers Filter through the insula.

If i need a Conservative to understand my arguments i use their own life and show them the dangers in the things they support,how they harm themselves and their immediate family. Facts alone don't matter to them and harm to others mean nearly nothing to them but you show them how they can be hurt they are all over that.

This is why the Republican party,Fox news and talk radio is so effective its very easy to just throw a fear bomb out there with no facts or truth. It bounces off us and we roll our eyes by how ridicules the claims are but it really hits them,anytime they talk about welfare they mean black people courtesy of the southern strategy of course looks like now they are including muslims lol But Conservatives the world over have a hard time with people who are different then them its scary to them.

Truth is scary to them its not simple and often gray So instead of seeking fact checkers they demonize them. All you can do is ignore them or scare them into understanding, it sucks but thats only way to really deal with them.
