Finally, the press corps steps up and demands transparency from the administration (Digby)

I heard reporters ask for their picture of POTUS with Tiger Woods all day long yesterday on MSNBC. I guess it was also on CNN.

Give them their picture already. What are you afraid of? What are you trying to hide. (:sarcasm

Seriously, transparency? What about the Iraq War? What about drones? What about Wall Street? No big deal, but clearly, not giving a picture of a golf game with Tiger is not acceptable.

No, this isn't from The Onion:
Ed Henry, the Fox News correspondent and president of the White House Correspondents Association, released a statement Sunday evening in which he said the press corps had been given no access to the president, who was joined on his outing by star golfer Tiger Woods, and that the WHCA would fight for greater transparency in the days ahead.

"Speaking on behalf of the White House Correspondents Association, I can say a broad cross section of our members from print, radio, online and TV have today expressed extreme frustration to me about having absolutely no access to the President of the United States this entire weekend," Henry said in a statement, relayed in a White House pool report. "There is a very simple but important principle we will continue to fight for today and in the days ahead: transparency."

They certainly aren't confronting John McCain about all of the other incidents where American lives have been lost in the same manner as Benghazi, with little or no scrutiny from Congress. Why is that?

The press corps revealed themselves for what they are after 9/11, when they allowed the Bush Administration to repeat lies that had already been largely debunked. I completely quit watching CNN after VP Cheney spewed several lies on that network, all of which were known to be lies at the time, and they gave him a pass on them.

Tim Russert did the same thing, and I won't watch Meet the Press unless someone I really like is on, for instance Rachel Maddow. David Gregory is a right wing tool, and allows lies to be stated as fact from time to time without calling out his guest on their lies.

The press corps in this country is a joke. To be concerned about a photo of President Obama with Tiger Woods is ridiculous, given all the other things going on around the world. I guess Kim Kardashian hasn't done anything newsworthy lately (ever).
