McCready’s Death Renews Questions For Dr. Drew

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The criticism of Dr. Drew Pinsky spread on the Internet almost as quickly as news of Mindy McCready's death.

The country singer with the tumultuous personal life became the fifth cast member of his "Celebrity Rehab" series to die since appearing on the show and the third from Season 3. The previous deaths stirred up rumors of a curse and a debate about the show's helpfulness. McCready's apparent suicide upped the pitch of the reaction, however.

Singer Richard Marx on Twitter compared Pinsky to Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the so-called suicide doctor: "Same results."

Marx backed off later Monday, saying the crack went too far. But he restated his thoughts in a way that summed up much of the reaction in the first 24 hours since the 37-year-old McCready's death Sunday afternoon in Heber Springs, Ark.

"It is, however, my opinion that what Dr. D does is exploitation and his TV track record is not good," Marx wrote.

Despite attempts to help them?

Wow. Know who are worse murderers than Drew? Doctors in hospices. No one they ever treat ever lives.

and used his Bush family connections to weasel out of it I bet.

(side issue-isn't it funny how steroid abuse was rampant on the team and at the time W Bush owned the Rangers???)

just wondering aloud.

Do you even listen to what you type? Do you listen to the news with one ear? This is no more Roger Clemens fault than it is yours. Yes, he is scum if he had a sexual relationship with her while she was 15. He should have been brought up on charges. However, he is not responsible for her death.

In another thread, you are spreading rumors that she "might have shot her husband and his dog". Do you do all this on purpose?

8. One thing is for certain - without a gun and a bullet, two people might still be alive

How many dogs die of a gunshot wound at just the same time a person does?
Did the dog shoot himself?

One thing is for certain, the guns and bullets did it.

And actually, it might have been younger than 15.

And Texas Rangers were ground zero for the steroids in their prime. And, actually, MOST players did not do it. Just the ones that it was obvious.

Bonds only started after the others to keep up with them, not that I am a fan of his.

Willie Mays and Ernie Banks never needed added help.

7. Steroid use was rampant on a lot of teams that * didn't own too.

* is responsible for a tremendous number of bad things, but I'd have a hard time blaming steroids in baseball on him for the 5 years he owned 1 of 28 teams in baseball.

He didn't do it first, but he did it best.
Then they did.

Same analogy.
Texas and some on Oakland led the way.

11. Did she have to kill the dog?

It shows what a piece of shit she was. If she had had an ounce of goodness in her, she would have found a home for the dog, or taken it to the shelter before she killed herself.

I've never seen "Celebrity Rehab" so I don't know what is revealed in that show, but it can't hurt to expose the conceit and hubris of these worthless celebrities. Maybe such a show will steer some people away from worshipping these morons.
