Response from my Representative re: GMO labeling

(Our Representatives NEED to hear from us -- help them help us!)

Thanks for taking the time to contact me.

I'm fully supportive of efforts to label and regulate genetically modified food products. Just so you know where we’re at, Initiative 522 will be heard here in the House in the coming weeks and House Bill 1407 will hopefully receive a hearing too. These matters won’t be heard in a committee that I sit on but I’m fully supportive of my colleagues in those committees where this legislation will be addressed.

Clearly you know a lot about the importance of this legislation – I hope I have a chance to contribute my vote in support of responsible food labeling!

Again, thanks for emailing. I can’t do my job here in Olympia without hearing from the folks I represent.

Yours,

State Representative
1st Legislative District

District Office:
817 238th St. SE

1. I'd rather eat local and GMO - than pesticides or food from the other side of the world...

... but I agree food should be appropriately labeled for people's concerns.

3. Me, too, but we deserve to know what we're eating THEN we can make our choice.

Big money always wins.

I hope this will be an exception.

4. Just drop an email with the subject line "if you don't support GMO labeling, I will

support and vote for your opponent next election". That's all I ever do. I figure the chances of opening and reading my email (if it's long and ranting) are slim, and if they're keeping tally they can just glance at the subject line and put it in the For or Against column.

It can't hurt.
