You know who I miss? I miss The Horse. Really. I miss Media Whores Online.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Whores_Online

They had one eponymous focus.

The Horse is long gone.

The need for media watchdogs is not. SO many lies still being told. So much created reality.

Do you know that no amount of searching will net you a picture of the sites horse mascot? Does anyone have a copy?

I swear someone here has an avatar that looks awfully similar to the horse. Can't remember who it is though.

I found this through dailykos:

those covering for and exposing the right-wing beliefs and lies the Bush* admin fed us daily thru the very sources MWO blogged about, that is.

Funny how MWO went out for long periods after the beginning of the Iraq war began, and then for good within a year after that, eh?

Haven't seen the 'Horse' in years, sorry.

During those early years of the Bush administration, it was a real lifeline. That, and the Bartcop forum, where we used to discuss the day's MWO religiously.

Those days seem like 100 years ago, but it was really only yesterday.

At least the word pressititue can and will make it past the censors.

Media Whores Online really exposed the presstitutes and others who prostituted themselves to the Bushies either for big bucks or simply to keep their jobs.

They are the reason I found DU. I always went there first. I wonder who it was, and why they discontinued it. It was really, really great.

They would ask for suggestions of Media in Exile and, repeatedly, I would submit Amy Goodman's name. But they ignored it.

Other than that, it was a breath of fresh air back then.
