Pistorious might get bail.

The prosecution introduced several statements that the defense was able to get them to admit could be interpreted other ways.
The police haven't had time to thoroughly scientifically nail down some items. The trajectories have to be meticulously set up and measured. The ability of witnesses to see and hear what went on in his house has to be verified.

When the judge asked if they thought Pistorious would skip knowing he is internationally known, they said yes. Some people there laughed. I guess they think he won't have it planned out carefully and involve disguises.

Court has adjourned for the day. Arguments and a decision will be made tomorrow.(Thursday-2/21)

I'm tired of the trend of denying bail or making it insanely high. Relatively few people charged with major crimes manage to run. In a case like this, if Pistorius gets bail the police will be watching every time he goes to the bathroom. "Disguise" is a joke when you're a worldwide personality with 2 artificial legs. He'll lose his passport, and may have to wear a tracking bracelet. Real risk, minor at best.

Prosecutors and cops want to portray every defendant, whether a multimillionaire murderer, a schlub with a pot possession charge, or a broke protestor accused of scrawling graffiti on the street in chalk as terrible dangers to the public and a major flight risk. Our, and some other countries', criminal justice systems are out of control. Let's stop supporting routine violations of rights and liberties just because we don't like someone.

Tracking devices are normally ankle bracelets - not usable here. Do they have ones for wrists? Fleeing wouldn't require a disguise - just pay someone to smuggle them across the border. We know he's rich, and has bank accounts outside South Africa.
