While you are watching Oscars tonight, imagine what you would feel like if all of a sudden...

No, I am not watching the Oscars either. Do not post about how you don't watch the Oscars, or I will reach through the inter-tubes and crush your wind-pipe with the power of the dark side of the force, for that is not the point of this post.

While you are watching Oscars tonight, imagine what you would feel like if all of a sudden all the houses around you blew up because someone on the other side of the world decided that the neighbor who lives down the street might have connections to terrorism. Why, I bet you’d be willing to join the cause of the people who just blew up your neighborhood. After you put the fires out and bury your neighbors, of course. Relax, those kids were collateral damage and part of the fog of war.

But then again, let’s remember- you had it coming. I mean, why else are you living where you are? Obviously you brought this on yourself and your neighbors for living down the street from someone who may or may not have been a terrorist. Shit happens, bro.

Sun Feb 24, 2013, 10:16 PM

....was by AA Flt #11 at 8:45 am EST.

18 minutes later, UA Flt #175 struck the South Tower at 9:03 am EST. The timing of the second strike was all part of their plan.

Those 18 minutes gave the world and national media the chance to train every camera they had on the WTC, and to force anyone watching to experience the horror of the second strike and the realization that this was a terrorist attack.

Those 18 minutes also gave the NYC first responders plenty of time to arrive at the WTC and for the firefighters to begin climbing up into the stricken twin towers.

The South Tower collapsed first at 10:05 am EST, followed 23 minutes later by the North Tower at 10:28.

The result? Lots of dead, lots of additional casualties, lots of people traumatized by what they had seen and heard. Terrorism 101.

So, why did W claim at least twice that he saw the FIRST impact take place, and why did he show such a notable lack of surprise when Card told him about the second attack?

I'll never forget after that aircraft carrier landing when he said he was glad they let him do it.

I thought, "WTF?? You're the one that's supposed to be in charge!"

Ever since Reagan the Republicans consider the President to be as important to running things as the Ronald McDonald clown is to the board of directors at that particular fast food giant..

you to believe he didn't want to scare the children. I bet if he had gotten news that his own child was in a horrible car wreck he would have gotten the Hell up and made some excuse and gotten to his kid. But this; he just sat there as if someone told him what was on the lunch menu and he was making up his mind what kind of soup he wanted.

put an end to this stuff tonight, have not made their own deals with it, and this is somekind of clarion call to join in a specific and productive effort in that cause . . .

Not.

Nested hypotheses: Without an actual person's for real name on it and in this sequestration environment, it could be base-building advertising; that could be why it's so regular, "peace"-fad-fishing, now that peace is fashionable, for a body-count in order to make an un-disclosed career amongst whatever corporate-persons are in the bidding.

heard on Stand Up! last week some guy make the same comparison 'much like when people were motivated to join the US military after September 11th attacks'.

BULLSHIT.

recruiting didnt jump much in 2002. By 2003 they were already doing the shady shit reported on here so much (ie 'missing an appointment with a recruiter is a federal offense'). By 2004 they were lowering standards and lowering quotas. Even the economic collapse didnt really help recruiting all that much, considering we were running two wars.

It's fantasy. And I lived among those people for over a year. They are shockingly just like us. Yes, if your street blew up, you are going to be angry towards somebody or some country. But guess what, just like us, not many of them actually do anything about it.

this whole notion of the whole street taking up arms and becoming terrorists also lies soley on the presumption that 'muslims' are by nature a much more war like and combative people that 'americans'. Not a very progressive concept.

Have been at war ever since. We even fucked it up to the point where we went after two countries who had zero citizens involved in those attacks.

I think the analogy is rather apt.

It was a tie with another film. I have to keep reminding myself that they are artists, and deserve to be recognized for their work. Nevertheless, I wouldn't see the movie.

Which is the issue, here. Yes, I think all the time about what if hellfire missiles were being rained down on innocents in my neighborhood. If it were my family, I would spend the rest of my life trying to get revenge.

I am ashamed of this country and I find no pride at all in being an American. The greatest sponsor of state terrorism on this planet is the U.S.A.
