at this point, despite current polls, they think they can wrap this around the President's neck... and if that fails they will have some short window to change course, IMHO.

Boner doesn't want to lose the Speakership. He can't let that vote happen and freeze out the tea anarchists.

...so I doubt it'll repeat. Boehner just doesn't have any power anymore. All he can do is make a lot of noise. So without Republicans nothing passes the House.
That means the sequester happens and doesn't stop until real pain gets felt all around. It'll be a while.

"more to the point, the Sequester will be in effect until April. "

...does that mean? The squester hasn't taken effect.

Are you saying it will take effect for a month, and then Congress is going to vote to replace it?

What would be the point of that?

"It means, the sequester will take effect as scheduled...and Congress won't find a way to deal with it for at least a month."

... change in a month? Are Republicans going to see the light in April?

If their plan is to blame the President for the cuts, why would they change their strategy in a month?

"This is what a US Senator told me."

...does that mean if a deal is reached by the end of the week (or the sequester remains in effect after April), a US Senator lied to you?

And that is, I am very afraid, what they will do.

They are prepared to, unsuccessfully, blame it on Obama, and to be run out of office in 2014.
