Man Who Barricaded Himself Inside Home With Guns Fires Shots At Robot

WAVERLY, Ohio - Waverly police said a man faced numerous charges after a standoff with authorities late Saturday.

Waverly police responded to a report of shots fired inside of a home, located in the 600 block of Walnut Street, shortly before midnight on Saturday.

According to a police report, 62-year-old Michael Blevins fired shots inside of a bedroom in the home and threatened others.

When police arrived at the scene, Blevins refused to answer the door or speak with officers, the report stated.

...

The OSP sent a robot inside the residence to locate Blevins, and when he was located, authorities sent another robot inside the home.

Police said that Blevins fired shots with a small caliber pistol when he saw the robot.

A short time later, authorities entered the home and took the man into custody. It was found that Blevins was highly intoxicated, police said.
