Now that I'm over the distraction of Oscar, about Congress and sequestration, could somebody

explain to me how they intend to fix this sequestration thing in three days? Apparently, the House is not in session tomorrow, which gives it Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to do something. Also, if I read the calendar right, there seems to be nothing on the schedule to address this? Since I'm not sophisticated about how Congress works, can someone explain to me what the Hell is going on?

Sequestration is likely to take affect, We the People will feel the effects after a few weeks, and THEN we'll see.

This is so unacceptable. They only schmooze us to give them money and then they show us total disrespect by not taking care of the business of the people. We should be able to have a way to fire them between elections if they don't do the job, well the leadership anyway. We should be able to fire Boehner for showing up on the job hung over and unable to carry out his duties.

I don't think boner's inability to do his job is related to whether or not he shows up on the job hung over. He's got a caucus which is impossible to work toward compromise with.

It really does affect your ability to think nimbly. A smart leader should be able to herd those Tea Baggers with the right approach of carrot and stick. A drunk can't do that because alcohol impairs the ability to be three steps ahead of any who would oppose you.

I can't see that it's even on the calendar for the House, but like I said I'm not sophisticated in how those baroque bodies work and how they work the rules.

I'm beginning to think all of this has been Kabuki theater.

In Congress and the President signed on to the sequester they were banking on taking back the House in 2012.

No one with the slightest bit of sense would believe that the Redpkuicans and Democrats would actually compromise on a solution.

I predict some half-assed extension to kick the can down the road a few months or a year then we can do it all over again like the debt limit "crisis" coming at the end of March.
