made it longer, but there were too many cheesey moments (mostly from Seth), too, which dragged it out, and some speeches were waaaay too long.

All in all...

But I'm glad A'mour won. And Argo And Daniel

McFarlane was okay. I thought he was a little forced, but that's me.

I know the whole awards show is supposed to be a "celebration" of film but honestly, I think that concept now is just so completely overblown.

Don't get me wrong, many of you know I'm a massive cynic when it comes to just about anything, but here is a secret, when in my former life as a filmmaker, I wanted to be one of those fans who was in the bleachers who would watch the stars walk down the red carpet. But oddly, every year I would find myself out of town on a job and would miss the opportunity. I would convince myself that was because I was destined to be one of the people actually walking down that same carpet. LOL Oh the healthy delusions of a young filmmaker.
