Really good so far-- not a lot of lecturing, just stories showing how it used to be and how far everyone's come. And not forgetting how far we have to go.

(15,657 posts)In the PBS clip, they identified the two men with her as her boyfriend and coach. THEY were the ones that came to her aid but what was told in the article I saw last year, it was implied that fellow runners who were strangers helped her knock the guy out of the way.

(43,049 posts)whilst I can't help but notice her flair for self-promotion, I would never accuse her of making it up when she says it was the coach and boyfriend.
She mentions other runners giving the manager the finger when he ordered her out of the race the second time, and that may have been part of the confusion.
