Yes, this is a primary and not the general election. The republicans got very few votes . There is just no way they could win in this district.

7. Robin Kelly has been a warrior for sane gun laws. She didn't give crap about

the NRA when taking those nuts on caused problems and she shouldn't give crap about the NRA now. The worm has turned in moderate districts, being for the NRA is a kiss of death. Kelly battered her rivals tonight, winning by almost 15,000 votes in a low turnout election. My hat is off to the people in her district for keeping their eye on the ball.

11. This is not a "moderate district".

I used to live there when I lived in Chicago. IL-2 is one of the most Democratic districts in the country. It is 85% African-American. Gun laws had nothing to do with the election.

10. She won the democratic primary. BUT, she got 30,000 votes. The winning repub got 942 votes.

The local press has said she has the seat.

12. Republicans have never contested IL-2.

R candidates seeking publicity or ego sometimes will run so they can be on the ballot in the General but they are not serious candidates backed by the R party. IL-2 is 90% Democratic.
