Asked whether he minded if "people call you a liar, some people call you a war criminal, protesters follow you, it's difficult to walk down the street in a country", he replied: "It really doesn't matter whether it's taken its toll on me."
Blair added that he had "long since given up trying to persuade people it was the right decision".

(81,860 posts)Saddam wasn't going to live forever. I think he was already in his 60's. if the sons took over I think things would have gotten really bad.

We should have let the Iraqi popular revolution take its course in 1990. The Coalition made a big mistake by letting Saddam's government use helicopters to 'examine the war damage'.

(5,455 posts)If you are a Kurd or a Shia, you probably believe that you are better off now that you were under Saddam. If you are Sunni, you'll feel you are worse off.

(13,992 posts)According to the British medical journal Lancet, there have been more than 600,000 civilian deaths in Iraq during the past 15 years. Just think if all those people were on the street at rush hour or trying to get into the latest movie. We've done the Iraqi people a great service.
