The friend I took to the ER had her surgery today and she has cancer.

She has ovarian cancer, stage IIIC. The surgeon performed a hysterectomy and took out her appendix. He also found it around her colon, but he did not address that surgically at this time. I'm not sure if it was present elsewhere.

They are talking chemotherapy. Those plans remain to be seen.

I could see this punch coming since I heard the CT results, but there was no way to dodge it.

Thanks for all the good vibes!

She faces a rugged journey. Have a relative who is three years out from initial diagnosis. A LOT of nasty treatment BUT still with us and still hopeful and enjoying life between treatment and surgery bouts. Take care and wishing both of you the best.

When I read your post about having to take her to the ER, I was so afraid that this was going to be the result. She had been suffering with this for more than a year but doctors diagnosed everything but this. Very common, and scary.

My best to you both.
